Pyritized Ammonite Negative Ring // Size 7-7.25
Initially I made this guy into a necklace with lots of unnecessary added details. I thought it was maybe a little big for a ring. The same day I decided I hated it and completely disassembled it. This guy has been on earth for MILLIONS of years and did NOT want to be made into a gaudy necklace by some silly human. So here he is, as the big, fat, sassy statement ring he always wanted to be. This guy’s a special one.
This fossil is anywhere from 65-240 million years old, an imprint left by an ammonite that has since been permeated by pyrite.
Fossil measures ~1.3 inches top to bottom, ~.5 inches tall
Brass + sterling prongs
Hammered sterling band
